Audubon Arizona is pleased to have been selected to receive a $2,000 donation from Cox Charities. This gift is part of $480,000 in statewide donations given to local non-profits this year, thanks to the generosity of Cox employees in Arizona.  

The donation will help Audubon provide River Keepers, a STEM-focused after-school program, to hundreds of low-income children in central Phoenix. River Keepers teaches kids about science and the environment, while allowing them to explore a restored wildlife habitat in their own neighborhood.

“Our employee grant panel recognized the great work being done by Audubon Arizona, and we hope our support will help you continue your good work in the community,” said Susan Anable, Southwest Vice President of Public Affairs.

This year, Cox Charities is celebrating 20 years of giving in Arizona and in addition to the $480,000 in statewide grants awarded in 2016, Cox will mark this anniversary by doing 20 acts of kindness benefiting local non-profits in the community.

Since the inception of Cox Charities in 1996, over $7 million has been awarded to Arizona nonprofit organizations over the past 20 years. Cox Communications’ commitment to philanthropy has been an integral part of the community. The charity is dedicated to supporting programs that positively impact children and advance educational and technology initiatives.
