Tapping Into Conservation: Winter Brew
Campaign Launch Date TBA
What is an Important Bird Area (IBA)?
Audubon Arizona’s IBA Program is a field-oriented and science-based conservation program designed to benefit Arizona’s birds and the critical habitats on which they depend.
The program is part of a global program founded by BirdLife International that, since it’s founding in the 1980’s, has identified over 8.000 sites in 178 countries. In the United States alone, there are over 2,500 identified sites covering more than 370 million acres of habitat. Arizona currently contains 45 of these critical sites and their ongoing protection depends on you!
The power of the IBA program to protect habitat comes from it’s supporters. When activity arises that may put one of these areas in jeopardy, Audubon can call on the countless people who value the IBA to speak up. Together, we can make sure that birds and their habitats remain part of the decision making process.
